My Vintage Petticoat Story

A small collection of vintage 1950s style net petticoats, and my story about why I am their custodian.

Beat the Man and buy vintage when you luck upon it for a few dollars. It’s a good feeling when you RE-scue retro. Or maybe consider making your own petticoats. In the 1980s I made a few of them in coloured netting using a circular skirt pattern. They were donated to charity stores by me a decade later because I needed wardrobe space.

You may even be able to hire out your petticoats for Fancy Dress and make a little bit of pocket money. 1950s rock n roll parties have always been popular. The TV series Mad Men has also brought back into fashion the stiff net petticoat.
